No sábado dia 23 de novembro os alunos do Ballet de Santa Teresa lançaram seu segundo livro: "Meu amigo e eu", fruto do trabalho das aulas de Recreação Intelectual no ano de 2007.
Neste dia também comemoramos os 6 anos da Instituição,e aposse do novo Conselho de alunos, formado por 10 alunas eleitas pelas crianças e adolescentes do Ballet de Santa Teresa.

Comemoração da 1a edição do jornal do BST
A chuva não foi problema para a comemoração da 1a edição do jornal do Ballet de Santa Teresa. O presidente da Sociedade Brasileira de Beneficência, senhor Alonso, o amigo Carlos Augusto da Cidade, ex-sub-prefeito de Santa Teresa, amigos e familiares de integrantes do BST, dentre outros estiveram presentes na celebração, que contou com a participação de um jogral. Tratava-se de uma lenda africana sobre um monstro assustador de olhos vermelhos e boca nas costas que comia criancinhas e é enganado por um garoto. A professora Geisa organizou o jogral e as fotos foram produzidas por Vânia Farias.

Mr. Alonso-- the president of the Brazilian Society of Beneficence, Carlos Augusto--a friend from the City, former sub-mayor of Santa Teresa, friends and family of the members of BST, along with others were present to view a play in celebration of the event. The play was based on an African legend about a frightful child-eating, red-eyed monster that is deceived by a boy. Teacher Geisa organized the play and the photos were produced by Vânia Farias.

A AFS Intercultura Brasil, nossa parceira, completou 50 anos de atuação no Brasil no mês de Outubro de 2006, e para comemorar esta data tão especial, nosso coral se apresentou na festa de de aniversário realizada na Bolsa de Valores do Rio, e nosso Ballet apresentou coreografias de ballet clássico e Dança Espanhola no Hotel Intercontinental.

This is the title of our first book created for the students of Ballet de Santa Teresa. The dedication and creativity of our teacher Alessandra Costa and our students allowed us to conquer such a project. November 6th, the date that BST commemorated the five years since our conception, was the day of the book launching celebration complete with afternoon autographs from the young authors.

Once again, our end of the year celebration was a great success. Cândido Mendes University’s João Teotônio Theatre was filled to capacity to support our students and a very special performance by the Mirim School of Samba’s Guanabara Dolphins. We close the year 2006 with a gold key.

Ballet Coppélia
Os alunos da noite foram ao Teatro Municipal assistir ao espetáculo de Ballet Coppélia. Alguns alunos se emocionaram porque era a primeira vez que estavam indo ao teatro. Foi uma noite de grande emoção e realização de sonhos.

Our evening students went to the Municipal Theatre to watch the Copélia Ballet. Some of our students were excited because it was their first time going to the theatre. It was a very emotional night and one where dreams became a reality.
BST com Billy T. Jones
Os alunos do ballet de Santa Teresa assistiram uma seção especial do novo espetáculo de Billy T. Jones, no Theatro Municipal do Rio no dia 25 de agosto. O espetáculo foi maravilhoso, e as crianças curtiram muito. Nossa presença, só foi possível graças a nossa parceria com a Antares, que nos propiciou este momento tão especial.

The students of BST attended a special showing of the new Billy T. Jones show, in Rio’s Municipal Theatre on August 25th. The show was wonderful, and our children were glowing. Our presence at this very special event was only possible thanks to our partnership with Antares.
Mac Dia Feliz
No dia 26 de agosto os alunos do Ballet de Santa Teresa participaram do Mc Dia Feliz, que angaria fundos para o tratamento e acompanhamento de crianças com câncer. Na data, os alunos do Ballet lotaram o Mac’Donald da Cinelândia, e todos saborearam o Big Mac.
Mc Happy Day
On August 26th, the students of BST participated in Mc Happy Day which benefited the treatment and care of children with cancer. On this day, the students of Ballet de Santa Teresa gathered in the McDonalds in Cinelândia and everyone savored a Big Mac.
Prêmio “2º Causos do ECA”
No Mês de agosto a Professora Vânia Farias, recebeu o Prêmio de 3º lugar nacional pelo Causo “Sonho de Bailarina”,que conta a história da criação do BST. A história foi publicada no livro “2º Causos do ECA”.

In August, teacher Vânia Farias received 3rd place for her entry “Sonho do Bailarina” (Dancer’s Dream), that tells the story of the creation of the BST. The story was published in the book “2º Causos do ECA”.

Carnaval 2007
Neste ano o Ballet de Santa Teresa participou mais uma vez do desfile das escolas de samba mirins, pela Golfinhos da Guanabara. Ficamos responsáveis pela Comissão de Frente e pela ala de baianinhas, que aliás seu um show, e foi premiada como melhor ala de baianas, recebendo o “Troféu Olhómetro”.
Carnaval 2007
Once again, Ballet de Santa Teresa participated in the Golphinhos of Guanabara samba school parade. We were responsible for the Front Commission and for the baininha section, which is a show in itself and was awarded the best section of Bahians, receiving the "Olhómetro” Trophy.
Tarde com Yoga
No mês de abril recebemos um “presente” de um de nossos parceiros institucionais, a Antares, uma aula de Yoga com o mestre Rafael Cervantes. A aula foi tão boa e relaxante que alunos professores e voluntários saíram com ânimo renovado e alma em festa!

In April, we received a “gift” from one of our instructional partners, the Antares; a yoga lesson with instructor Rafael Cervantes. The lesson was so great and relaxing that that students, professors, and volunteers left with a renewed spirit and soul!

Nossos alunos mais uma vez assistiram a beleza e a apurada técnica deste que é um dos maiores ballets de todos os tempos. Executado pelo corpo de baile do Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro , que nos proporcionou uma noite inesquecível.

Once again, our pupils had the opportunity to witness the beauty and refined technique of one of the greatest ballets of all time: Swan Lake. Performed at Rio De Janeiro’s Municipal Theatre, the ballet proved to be an unforgettable night for the students.
Semana Santa
Este é mais um ano que o Ballet de Santa Teresa participa do evento “Semana Cultural em Santa”. Este ano ficamos responsáveis pela confecção de um dos tapetes que adornaram a entrada da Igreja Matriz de Santa Teresa.
Holy Week
This year was another in which Ballet de Santa Teresa participated in the “Cultural week in Santa” events. This year, we were responsible for the construction of one of the tapestries that decorated the entrance of the First Church of Santa Teresa.
Feira de Talentos
No dia 14 de abril foi realizada a 1° feira de talentos, que foi um tremendo sucesso ! Os pais mostraram os seus talentos escondidos, expuseram nas barracas talentos imagináveis: bordados, bijuterias, pinturas, culinárias, perfumaria e etc. As nossas alunas mostraram os seus talentos junto com suas professoras Leila, e Denise através da dança: Hip Hop e dança Espanhola. Foi uma tarde reveladora.

The parents showed off their unimaginable hidden talents and displayed the more conceivable talents such as embroidering, knick-knacks, painting, cooking, perfume making, etc. Our pupils, along with their teachers Leila and Denise showed off their dancing Hip Hop and Spanish Dance skills!
